Of bunnies, bunnies and more bunnies (February 2020 update)
It's been an exciting month in the land of Lettuce!
We announced our plans to offer shares in our business on Crowdcube, the UK's largest crowdfunding platform. We feel like crowdfunding is the funding model that aligns best with our values, and we're really excited that you - our customers - will have the chance to own a piece of our business.
Putting together the pitch has been an excellent opportunity to craft our story better and be clearer about our goals. We've packaged this into a nifty little pitch video that we'll be sharing with you soon. In the meantime, enjoy these behind-the-scenes shots.
This month has also seen us experimenting more with tools and routines to support fully remote working. We want to hire the best people from anywhere in the world, and we want those people to live the fullest and most meaningful versions of their lives, so we're very committed to making it possible for our team to do their best work from anywhere. The tools we've been finding the most helpful recently are TeamRetro, Zoom, Zenhub, Visual Studio Live Share, and, of course, Slack (and it's many lovely integrations).
It's been over a month since our last release, which always makes us jittery, but there's been a lot of work going on behind the scenes: we've effectively re-built our app from the ground-up in Flutter. While this has meant a little hiatus on building new features, we're confident that this work is ultimately going to make the app more stable, responsive, and that we'll be able to build future features a bit quicker. We're also changing how Lettuce stores your data: instead of having everything saved on your device, you'll soon be able to sign up to safely store, sync and restore your data online.
Lettuce had 2,000 active users in the past month, many of you are new. So - hi! Welcome! We're happy to have you here :)
